   I would think the chances of developing skin cancer would relate to the amount of exposure. Nevertheless, if you freckle you should avoid the sun.

   thats great that you don't use tanning beds, they're nothing but a one way street to cancer! You should always wear sunscreen when going out in the sun. I am very fair skinned myself, and learned quite some time ago, that it's just not worth trying to get tan. Plus your skin will look much healthier when you're older if you protect it now.

   Some people get skin cancer even if they've never spent time in the sun. You need to be especially careful to check your skin if you:

   * have light hair and skin
   * freckle and burn easily
   * have a family member who's had skin cancer
   * spent a lot of time in the sun throughout your life
   * had blistering sunburns as a youngster
   * have blue, green or gray eyes

   Moles are a main cause of skin cancer.. thats how my sister got it… shes dark skinned dark hair, dark brown eyes… so its not limited to what you look like.. best bet would be talking to your dermatologist, they can give you the best advice!!

   oh and never go by what skin cancer looks like in the pictures the doctors show you… they may look like that but most look completely different..!!
