Do self tanning products give protection from sun burn , after using them does the tan from it keep you from burning the way a natural tan or tanning booth does , I realize that for extended time in the sun that a sun block is still needed , got my curiosity as summer nears knowing I'll be swimming and shirtless at home
Thanks in advance

it depends you have to read the bottle or whatever, they usually say, because pretty much they HAVE to.
i know i have lotions from the tanning booth i use because they give me mad tan but, they don't have any skin protection from the sun.
i looked it up and you can mix sun screen with sun tan lotions to get a tan but still be protected. you have to have the right amount mixed though. not a whole lot, and not the full 60 spf sunscreen i know of.
