no…ur totally freaking wrong cefajjeonx. yes it means sun protection factor. but dude, spf 15 is for dark skinned people. spf 30 for olive. spf 45 for beige. and spf 50 or longer is for fair skinned people. generally you can wear sunscreen for 30 mins to an hour w/ out compromising your skin but spf 15 would not let you stay out that long if your white and burn so easily as 10 mins. learned that in science today bcuz some stupid chick asked what spf was even though were in high school!

haha, I don’t mean to be rude, but that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. The number you see associated with SPF represents the length of time you can stay out in the sun without burning, multiplied by the corresponding number. So a person who would normally start to burn in 10 minutes, could theoretically have 150 minutes of sun protection with a sunscreen that has an SPF of 15.

SPF numbers works by multiplying that number by 10 to get the hours of protection… so 30 will give you 300 minutes of sun protection. -_-” it really doesn’t connect to how many times you have to reapply before it works lol..

SPF 30 is actually not so good. The lower the number the better the protection it is. The numbers basically mean, if you have SPF 30 then you have to put it on 30 times before it works. If you have a SPF 5 or so, it means you have to out it on only 5 times so it works, so the lower the number the better it is. I learned that in cosmetic school.
