What are ten things that increase the risk of skin cancer and what can we do to stop it?

Posted by admin

I’ve heard that skin cancer is very dangerous for your health and well being but I want to know about ten things that contribute to the risk of skin cancer so I’m sure that i don’t do it. Also can I have about five sun safe strategies. Which ones would you think work the best. Thanks for helping fight skin cancer. ( =

lucky you, that i’m doing an assignment on skin cancer today haha, i’m 15. so if i’m wrong i’m sorry, hah

well, slip slop slap.
slip on a shirt.
slop on some sunscreen
and slap on a wide brim hat.
:)

Wear light colored clothing, long sleeve and make sure it has shoulders if you choose to wear a short sleeved.

don’t think that only applying one layer on sunscreen once a day protects you from the sun, because it doesn’t.
you need spf15+ and apply every 3 hours.

wear a wetsuit if possible, don’t go to tanning salons. they trigger off melanomas.

sit under the shade as often as possible, altought this doens’t fully prevent skin cancer, it does help.

wear sun glasses. good ones, not cheap shit ones.

sit under an umbrella at the beach.
don’t sun bake, no matter how good it feels, you’l regret it in 20 years.

wear lip sunscreen too.

and yeah, hope i’ve helped. :)

Can I add a comment? Read sensible medical news about preventing skin cancer, and as previous correspondent says, slip slap slop.

I asked various authorities about taking precautions, and if you go to http://www.after-cancer.com and look for skin/ sun there are comments from professionals about why we need to protect ourselves.

And lobby for athletes to wear more sensible clothing. When the Olympics shows athletes, particularly females, wearing skimpy clothes in the middle of the day, what example does that set? Or do sponsors insist on the ‘sexiest’ clothing without worrying about health?
